As a network project, the film festival provides an international platform for diverse voices, emerging media and creative technologies—such as mobile AI, cinematic VR and vertical films. MINA establishes a dialogue on the new trends and directions in smartphone filmmaking. MINA creates connections between filmmakers, researchers, communities, creative content and the screen industries.

MINA and SmallRig presented the 14th International Mobile Innovation Screening including a Q&A with smartphone filmmakers at ACMI on the 24th October and smartphone film screenings at Federation Square on the 27, 28 and 29 October 2025.

The International Mobile Innovation Screening featured 14 films from 12 countries, including Chile, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Nigeria, China, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada, Peru, South Africa, and India.
